Probably just another JW trying to "save" his loved ones with the twisted WT doctrine that death absolves a person of their sin debt.

Is the 1000 year reign literal?
by gavindlt into all those on this students on this forum, i would love to know what your view is?.

Sea Breeze
Yes, it is literal. However, Catholics and 1/3 of Evangelicals believe it is symbolic. That position is called amillenial. It started with Augustine around 400 AD. Early church leaders all believed it was literal.
This is THE biggest reason the WT experienced so much success early on.... most Christians hadn't heard the "kingdom message" as explained by WT and they ended up getting duped into rejecting the new covenant "for the forgiveness of sins" described in Mt. 26: 27-28.
A literal Kingdom is embraced by 2/3 of all Evangelicals. However, the Kingdom message is still primarily a future message that will be preached during the Great Trib.
The message during the church age (age of grace) is to be reconciled to God:
2 Cor. 5: 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not [a]imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Waking Them Up When They Feel Safe
by KerryKing ingood morning all, i would love some genuine advice please.. i have an old friend who is still in the org, but has never been the very staunch type.
however, she is going through a very rough patch in life, (past deeds from youth caught up and now is in prison) and i reached out to her by old fashioned snail mail.. by her reply she sounds more pimi than ever and finding some sort of comfort in the literature.
would i be wrong to attempt to wake her up, would that actually be a cruel thing to do right now?

My advice is to mail her a copy of Crisis of Conscience. She will have plenty of time to read it.
Do you mind me asking what is she in prison for? Just curious.

Still Confused About The FDS
by NotFormer inthis was prompted by another thread where it was revealed that the gb were referred to as "our future kings" in a wt video.

if i've got it right, the 144,000 are (or were until recently) the fds.

My question is to point out the inconsistencies I see in JW theology*. And the question still stands, according to JW theology, should the annointed (Jesus brothers) be referring to the vast majority of JWs, the unannointed, (not Jesus' brothers) as brothers and sisters?
Well, I don't see a problem with them calling each other brothers. They all support the same lies and are all cursed according to scripture.
JW's outside of the New Covenant are not anointed. Anointed means born-again, justified, declared righteous. All these terms refer to the state of ANY Christian who has agreed to put trust in Christ alone. That person has no sin debt because family members are not hired workers who receive wages. Instead, they are sons who receive an inheritance. Again....members of the royal family of God have no sin debt. They inherit righteousness. Way easier than trying to work for it.
However, even JW's who do claim to be anointed are not anointed either because their trust is in WT, their own good works and not Jesus alone. Plus they are under a curse for teaching others to reject the new covenant "for the forgivenes of sins" that was never taught by the apostles
Gal: 1: 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.JW's, both the so-called "anointed" and so-called "great crowd" preach an "other gospel" unknown to the apostles.
Anyone outside of the New Covenant, or anyone who teaches others to seek God outside of the NC do not belong to God. They are not his. Jesus "never" knew them. They have a brotherhood of judgment and damnation.

@notformer
All you have to do is read the bible literally, like it was inteded to be read. The 144K of Revelation are future male Jewish virgins acording to scripture. It is the WT that superimposes all the symbolic interpretations that eventually has duped millions of people into rejecting the new covenant "for the forgiveness of sins" described in Mt. 26: 27-28
Have you not figured this out yet? -

New ministry, you don’t give a witness
by Mikejw inthere are assignments on the life and ministry school now where they are suggested to just talk to people without giving a witness.. they are supposed to practice starting conversations with strangers and listening to them to talk about whatever they want to talk about .
there is an assignment this week where the conversation ends without giving a witness.
jws don’t look like jws anymore and now they don’t actually preach.. you could get bearded men with sweaters or other such tops and women in pants or slacks coming upto you in the park or on the street and starting a conversation with you.. then you hear them listening to you and talking about whatever they think that you wanted to talk about .

Abosolute proof the JW's are targeting loney, depressed and vulnerable people.

A Few Simple Conclusions

here's a few (personal) observations to live by:.
1. the one true religion is not here.

@mrqwik,
1. The one true religion is not here. I believe to be long dead before it's appearance.
2. All good people come back.
3. Time stands still for the dead. That's what JW's believe! I can see why you would think that after 50 years of WT mind control.

The self-appointed "slave" said this - in 1935
by BoogerMan inwatchtower august 15th 1935 - "...the greatest of all tribulations mentioned in the scriptures must come after the great multitude appears and must be that which is mentioned by christ jesus as “tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time.” that tribulation period began with the “day of jehovah”, to wit, in 1914, when the war started against satan’s organization in heaven, and reaches the great climax at the time of the battle of armageddon, the great day of god almighty.
110 years - and counting!.
other denominations claim the great tribulation is only going to last for 7 years.

@VH7 And two thirds of evangelicals believe it is more than that.

@touchofgrey
The advice from both was appropriate since one was issued in the Age of Law and the other in the Age of Grace. Jesus was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Paul was Apostle to the Gentiles.
Even so, as Jesus got closer to the work he would do on the cross, he told Nicodemas 3 times that he must be born again.
Good works in the NT flow from a supernaturally changed life (a new spirit), not will-power.Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father..... But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:

Vomit Eaters and Filthy Whores
by Sea Breeze inthe watchtower characterizes christians not affiliated with the watchtower corporation as vomit eaters and filthy whores: .
“how well they pictured the spiritual drunkards of christendom at the present time!
besides actual wine and intoxicating liquors, there are other things to intoxicate the priests and preachers in christendom so as to induce drowsiness in them, to make them reel, to confuse things before their religious vision, to induce them to belch out the vomit of spiritually filthy things” - w59 3/1 pp.

Looks like there was a change in Pure Worship book:
Do the prostitute sisters, Oholah and Oholibah, prefigure Christendom with its division between the Catholic and Protestant faiths?
Scriptures: Ezek. 23:1-4
Pure Worship: Chap. 15, box 15A
Previous understanding: Oholah (Samaria, capital of Israel), the older sister, pictures Catholicism; Oholibah (Jerusalem, capital of Judah), the younger sister, pictures Protestantism.
Clarification: These prostitute sisters are not prophetic types of any parts of Christendom. Rather, their existence serves to teach us about how Jehovah feels when those who were once his loyal people commit spiritual prostitution. His feelings regarding all false religion are similar.
Reasoning behind the change: There is no Scriptural indication that Oholah and Oholibah are prophetic types of Christendom. Israel and Judah were once like faithful wives to Jehovah, but Christendom has never had such a relationship with Jehovah. Further, the comparisons of God’s unfaithful people to prostitutes in chapters 16 and 23 of Ezekiel offer hope of reform and restoration. Christendom, as part of Babylon the Great, has no such hope.
Apparently, the whoredom of the Oholibah sisters now only represents to Christians who were once JW's!
Rather, their existence (the whore sisters) serves to teach us about how Jehovah feels when those who were once his loyal people commit spiritual prostitution.
So, WT saves the worst of their language for the few of us who make it out and then back to God inspite of their Jedi mind tricks.
The Watchtower must be especially afraid of people like me to prompt them to bestow this esteemed honor on us. I wonder why?
Love it! I do think the WT recognizes that a new front has opened up on them with the whole whore thing. It may turn out to be a big hole they dig and then proceed to fall in it.
